Circuit Civil

Circuit Civil has jurisdiction over civil actions in which the matter in controversy exceeds the sum of $15,000.00, all cases in equity, actions involving the title and boundaries of real property, injunctions, and all civil matters not within the jurisdiction of the county court.

The Circuit Civil Department maintains the records and documentation for cases involving lawsuits greater than $50,000.01. Other types of cases handled by Circuit Civil are mortgage and lien foreclosure, medical and professional malpractice, auto negligence, contract indebtedness, personal injury, and eminent domain.

The public may view most Circuit Civil case files unless the case has been sealed. In which case, it cannot be viewed without a court order. County Civil

County Civil has jurisdiction over civil actions in which the matter in controversy does not exceed the sum of $15,000.00. Claims of more than $5,000.00 but less than $15,000.00 are categorized as county civil actions.

The County Civil Department maintains the records and documentation for cases involving eviction lawsuits, small claims, and other civil lawsuits less than $50,000.00 to include car repair disputes, release of personal property, and payment information for judgments.
